Course Description:

When do you negotiate? Always! Negotiation is an underutilized, yet critical business skill that lies dormant within most organizations. Many employees, including management, are uncomfortable with negotiation and may be unaware of how that is impacting their own job performance, as well as the overall performance of their organizations. 

Who Should Attend?

This session prepares attendees to hone their personal negotiating style and skills, as well as identify and defend against the negotiating techniques that may be used against them by suppliers, customers and co-workers.

About the Instructor:

Rich Weissman is an experienced supply chain management practitioner and educator. He works with businesses to build scalable and sustainable supply chain strategies. His focus includes strategic sourcing, sales and operations planning, process improvement, and sales and customer service management. Weissman teaches operations and supply chain management, strategy and policy, entrepreneurship, and managerial economics at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and writes and speaks extensively on issues impacting the global supply chain. He has more than twenty-five years of hands-on experience in procurement and supply chain management for Boston area manufacturing and service companies. He is past president of the Purchasing Management Association of Boston (ISM-GB) and the recipient of the Harry J. Graham Memorial Award, the highest honor bestowed by the Association. Weissman earned an MS in Management from Lesley University and a BA in Economics from Rutgers University.

Course Description:

This program is for individuals who wish to earn the FAA Remote Pilot Certification, with a focus on all the content required for the FAA’s Remote Pilot Test — regulations, the National Airspace System, weather, aircraft loading and performance, flight operations, and more including:

  • The expanding role of drones in commercial and government applications
  • Commercial systems available for budget operations
  • Knowledge of approaches to applying sUAS in transportation safety, security, and emergency response
  • Mission planning and goal assessment
  • Imagery analysis skills
  • Safety practices advocated by insurance companies and risk managers
  • Imagery analysis using commercial mapping programs

This course is offered in-person. College social distancing guidelines will be followed and masks are required in the building and on-campus at all times.
