Reduce Suicide Risk and Promote Healing: Sudden Death Postvention

In this full‑day workshop, you’ll learn evidence-based, nationally recognized best practices for responding to a sudden or traumatic death.
This full‑day workshop is relevant for professionals and leaders across K–12 and youth‑serving schools, workplaces and organizations, health, education, and human services, and community and support roles who may be impacted by or responding to a sudden or traumatic death and seek evidence‑based, nationally recognized postvention practices.
Industry Certificate will be awarded upon completion of session.

The Cape and Islands Suicide Prevention Coalition has partnered with Cape Cod Community College to offer QPR, safeTALK, Mental Health First Aid, Sudden Death Postvention, and ASIST training programs that provide our communities with the necessary information and tools to raise awareness, educate, and increase action to reduce suicides.

Verbal Intervention De-escalation Training (Virtual)
with Brianne Smith
This interactive training prepares participants to safely and effectively de-escalate low-risk crisis situations using proven, hands-off verbal techniques. Grounded in Crisis Prevention Institute’s (CPI) Crisis Development Model, the program helps participants recognize early warning signs, understand the impact of trauma and brain science on behavior, and respond with confidence and professionalism.
The program includes a required pre-training online course (3 hours), live virtual instruction (3 hours) led by a Professional Instructor, and hands-on exercises. Completion earns a 2-year CPI Verbal Intervention™ Certification.

Understand and Manage Burnout: Renew Your Energy and Focus

Do you feel like you're burning the candle from both ends? Are you craving time to feel more balance, energy, and excitement? During this zoom session we will explore what burnout is, how it is affecting you, how to acknowledge and manage these feelings, and how to set priorities and boundaries.
We will look at how to notice and reframe the narrative you may be experiencing, and ways to integrate personal time into your daily life so that you feel refreshed and engage with renewed energy. You will leave this session with a plan that includes reframing your thoughts, and goals and strategies for change.
Goal: To understand and manage burnout for renewed energy
You will learn:
- What burnout is and ways to change and manage the narrative
- How burnout affects you
- How to set boundaries and priorities
- Strategies to become refreshed with renewed energy
