For the small business owner, there are many things that are important to consider with regard to human resources (HR) support. As a business owner, you want your employees to feel comfortable with the working environment you have provided, but the HR world can be a bit tricky to navigate. 

To help you understand some important laws, regulations, and how to communicate effectively with your employees, we are offering an HR series focused on the following topics:

Each workshop will run from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Signing up here for all 8 sessions will save you $100. Participants may also sign up per topic at $65 per workshop.

Shifting into coaching mode while managing people can help empower employees, encourage solution-minded engagement, and create more effective relationships that will allow managers to better leverage skills, knowledge and abilities. Whether you’re hoping to become a manager or are a new or seasoned manager, coaching is a great skill to add to your tool-kit. It is also a really helpful skill in non-management situations.

With over twenty years of experience in business, including training and development, Kimberly Matthews is well versed with the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) Learning System and certification exam preparation course. Kimberly currently holds a Senior Certified Professional designation from SHRM. 

She has amassed a great deal of on-line facilitation experience in her career as a Training and Development Manager at Marriott International hosting virtual classrooms across the continental United States to a diverse audience of Gen X, Gen Y and millennials.  She also has acquired extensive experience in adult education at the community college level.

Techniques include thought stopping, meditation, visualization, use of humor as well as a concept called “food and mood.”
