Problem, Process, People: Tools to Manage Projects with Remote and/or Onsite Team Members (WPG580-62)

$59

with Irene Mauch

Calendar Nov 16, 2021 at 3 pm

Date: Tuesday, 11/16/21, 1 session
Time: 3-4:30pm
Format: Live Streaming via Zoom

Course Description:

In the past 18 to 24 months, we have been forced to change our "normal" work routines, including how we interact with colleagues. This unplanned course shift placed a spotlight on the strengths and gaps in our processes. Take, for example, embracing video conferencing tools. We quickly learned that engaging folks on a video call required more than implementing technology and activating zoom features.

Productively engaging remote team members calls for greater transparency plus deliberate planning and communicating. In this hands-on workshop, we focus on digital project management techniques/tools designed to engage and manage co-located or distributed teams and impact your project's outcome.

We begin the session with a lively exercise called "What's the Problem?". Participants will use an interactive whiteboard to frame a project's problem statement and charter to guide their teams directionally.

The tools shared in this session are proven techniques that engage people more effectively. Equally important, based on the session's dynamics and format, participants will have the skills to implement these techniques immediately. For example, a participant can apply The Project Canvas tool to a current work project to assess gaps or provide a team update. Using The Project Canvas tool's format as a guide, a team can quickly gauge alignment and discuss expectations.

Who Should Attend?

1) Any staff member who leads projects that require input from other participants or stakeholders.

2) Anyone looking for practical, interactive whiteboard tools.

3) Ideal for team development

About the Instructor:

Irene Mauch leads the Mauch Group. This helps her to ask the right questions and listen carefully to her clients’ answers. It drives her to dig for the countless factors and difference-making details that surround problems and reveal solutions.
