Massachusetts Certified Hot Work Training

The Massachusetts Certified Hot Work Training may be taken as a stand-alone program or as a part of our Welding Basics with Hot Work Certification Program.

In Massachusetts, individuals who perform, supervise, or delegate hot work activities—such as welding, cutting, or brazing—must hold a state-approved Hot Work Safety Certificate. To earn the certificate, participants must complete approved training and pass an assessment. The certification is valid for three years and must be renewed upon expiration.

Our Massachusetts state-approved program covers all aspects of the new Hot Work requirements. This 3-hour training meets state guidelines and includes OSHA standards as well as the Hot Work permitting process.

Welding Basics with Hot Work Certification

This hands-on course introduces the fundamentals of welding through small-scale projects relevant to various regional industries. Participants will learn essential welding techniques and safety practices, earning their Hot Work Safety Certification on the first day of the program.

Designed for those interested in basic welding for minor repairs and maintenance, this course does not provide welding certification and is not intended for individuals seeking advanced welding skills or structural welding training.

Format: This 2-part program is offered in person

Important: Please note that this program is split between two locations:

  1. Massachusetts Certified Hot Work Training: Friday at the CCCC Hyannis Center, 540 Main Street, Hyannis
  2. Welding Basics: Wednesdays at the CCCC Plymouth Aviation Center, 246 South Meadow Road, Plymouth

Two Sessions Available:

  1. Friday, 9/26/2025; 8:30am - 11:30am, Wednesdays, 10/1 & 10/8/2025; 8:30am - 4pm

Dental Assisting Radiology

This hybrid course educates dental assistants in the fundamentals of dental radiology and is for participants who have some working experience in Dental Assisting. Must be familiar with basic dental and dental radiology related terminology.

This course consists of a 24-hour online and 6-hour clinical lab comprised of learning modules, clinical simulation software and a final exam. Upon successful completion of all components of this course participants will be qualified to submit their application for certification to expose radiographs in dental practices in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to the Board of Registration in Dentistry. 30 CEUs available upon the successful completion of this course.

Course Format: 

  • Online/didatic portion begins on Monday, 9/29/2025
  • In person clinical lab runs Saturday, 10/18/2025 from 8am-3:30pm (including lunch break)

Excel for Self-Taught Users

In this virtual seminar, you'll dive into a variety of Excel tools and functions—both commonly and less frequently used. Topics include freezing and unfreezing cells, applying conditional formatting, and protecting worksheets.

You’ll gain hands-on experience working with different functions, creating multi-sheet workbooks, and linking formulas across sheets. The session will also cover key concepts like Relative vs. Absolute cell referencing, Pivot Tables and Charts, and essential reference functions such as IF and VLOOKUP.

ServSafe Certification

TThis course is designed for individuals seeking initial certification as food service managers. As an accredited program, it provides comprehensive preparation for the ServSafe exam, which will be administered on the final day of class. The required textbook is included with enrollment, with two-weeks provided for study.

Class meets on 10/6 and 10/20/2025.

Who Should Attend: 
This program is for those in the food service industry who need to be certified in sufficient food safety knowledge to protect the public from foodborne illness.
