Massachusetts Certified Hot Work Training

The Massachusetts Certified Hot Work Training may be taken as a stand-alone program or as a part of our Welding Basics with Hot Work Certification Program.

In Massachusetts, individuals who perform, supervise, or delegate hot work activities—such as welding, cutting, or brazing—must hold a state-approved Hot Work Safety Certificate. To earn the certificate, participants must complete approved training and pass an assessment. The certification is valid for three years and must be renewed upon expiration.

Our Massachusetts state-approved program covers all aspects of the new Hot Work requirements. This 3-hour training meets state guidelines and includes OSHA standards as well as the Hot Work permitting process.

Welding Basics with Hot Work Certification

This hands-on course introduces the fundamentals of welding through small-scale projects relevant to various regional industries. Participants will learn essential welding techniques and safety practices, earning their Hot Work Safety Certification on the first day of the program.

Designed for those interested in basic welding for minor repairs and maintenance, this course does not provide welding certification and is not intended for individuals seeking advanced welding skills or structural welding training.

Format: This 3-part program is offered in person

  1. Massachusetts Certified Hot Work Training: Friday at the CCCC Hyannis Center, 540 Main Street, Hyannis
  2. Welding Basics: Wednesday at the CCCC Plymouth Aviation Center, 246 South Meadow Road, Plymouth
  3. Welding Lab: Thursday OR Friday, (see dates below), at the CCCC Plymouth Aviation Center, 246 South Meadow Road, Plymouth

OSHA HAZWOPER Refresher

This 8-hour hazwoper refresher course covers the 29 CFR 1910.120 regulation, work-site safety, hazard communication, emergency action plans/contingency plans, fire protection/prevention, back safety and container handling, confined spaces, air monitoring, decontamination, personal protective equipment, and respiratory protection. 

Who Should Attend
This class is for those responsible for workplace safety and building and/or job site management.

ServSafe Recertification

This course is intended for the recertification of food service managers, which is required every five years. The program includes a comprehensive review of key materials, followed by the ServSafe exam administered on the same day.

safeTALK (Martha's Vineyard)

A training in suicide alertness skills to help people ask about suicide directly, connect others to life-saving resources and keep them safe until those resources take over. Industry Certificate will be awarded upon completion of session.

The Cape and Islands Suicide Prevention Coalition has partnered with Cape Cod Community College and Cape & Island District Attorney's Office  to offer QPR, safeTALK, Mental Health First Aid, Sudden Death Postvention, and ASIST training programs that provide our communities with the necessary information and tools to raise awareness, educate, and increase action to reduce suicides.

OSHA 10 Safety Training

Mental Health First Aid

A skills-based training course that helps people identify, understand, and respond to mental health and substance use issues.

This training covers: 

  • Common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges.
  • Common signs and symptoms of substance use challenges.
  • How to interact with a person in crisis.
  • How to connect a person with help.
  • Expanded content on trauma, substance use and self-care.

Industry Certificate will be awarded upon completion of session.

40-Hour Real Estate Salesperson Exam Prep Info Session

Massachusetts requires 40 hours of pre-license training prior to the real estate salesperson exam. Our course prepares students for the license exam. It is approved by the MA Board of Registration for fulfilling its licensing requirements.
